The type is a brick terrace. The form follows the existing ie the existing pitched roof is followed and the proposed envelope follows the lines of the existing house.

Description of Housing

The existing building lines have been retained for the proposed extension. The existing building lines have informed three of the four sides of the new house. The existing and proposed building lines are shown on the supporting plans.

Recessed and projecting elements

How recessed and projecting elements are used in the design

The existing roof to the existing outrigger is pitched and the new extension roof is also a proposed pitched roof and shallower to ensure there is no impact on the existing attic flat rear window.
The proposed roof to the new dwelling is pitched slightly to ensure adequate falls which reflects the existing flat roof.
